Kilborn's, located in historic Newboro, is a mere 5 minute drive from the tourist village of Westport. Opening 10 years ago to modest space in the old village grocery store, Kilborn's has since grown into a sprawling shop consisting of three buildings and two driveways, and many levels. |

Kilborn's gets its name from John Kilborn. In the 1830's, the present day dining room at Stirling Lodge was his home. He obtained the rank of colonel, which was the highest rank then available to a member of the militia. In the War of 1812, he was captured by the Americans, and subsequently escaped to eventually settle in Newboro. |
